But it looks like from the Mecum website that it didn't cross the block at all, what's up with that? Did the seller back out? Does anyone know?

All this post does is make me want to buy a "my other car is a Vector" sticker.

He relapsed and started using coke again, so after snorting a line he came to the epiphany of "WHY WOULD I EVER SELL THIS CAR!"

I can tell you that I searched high and low for it and was watching the actual auctioning when it should've been crossing the block, but no sign of it. I was disappointed:(

was it this white one or a silver one? They were supposed to have a silver one in Monterey, but I didn't see it when I went.
Edit: yeah it was the same silver on e! The results page says "Pending"

I would love to own a Donkervoort for that exact same reason.

yeah, I was watching it on tv and they didn't mention a word about the car (which I thought was VERY unusual) and then they cut to commercial when it should've crossed the block... So I figured something must've been up, so I checked Mecum's website and it still said "pending" like it didn't even go across the stage. Same with several others. (A couple 300SL roadsters, a Ferrari 275 GTB short nose, and others). Maybe a major collector backed out and decided to keep the cars, because those could all be part of a high dollar collection.

I was so upset it wasn't there today. That was one I was really looking forward too

yup, that's what I saw. I was very curious as to what it would sell for. Kind of disappointed honestly.

I did get to see the red one that RM auctioned off, it sold for $275,000

same thing happened to me. They were supposed to have it in Monterey in August but it wasn't there either

The vector just wasn't there. The others were
The 300sl roadsters, 275gtb short nose, Porsche 356a speedster, and the Locomobile model 40... were a collection of cars that I think were from past auctions that didn't sell cause they were called Bid goes on classics

Nice, I really should make it out to a big fancy car auction, I've never been to one before!

Oh, did they cross the block or what? I didn't see that they had sold, or did they just not meet their reserves?

You definitely should, there was some really neat stuff there. A basically brand new Ford GT, Yenko Camaro, and that awesome 'cuda... That's some stuff I like hahaha I would've loved to have been there

do it! I hit Mecum, RM, Russo & Steele, and Gooding's when I was there. mecum alone had 750 cars on the lot. I watched the cars go across the block at Gooding's (with fellow opponaut, 55 Buick, oversteer scientist, actually) and saw a McLaren F1 hit $10.75 mil and still not hit the reserve! It was crazy to see bids going back and forth at increments of $100k at a time.

They were just in stagnant display all by themselves with signs telling you to register as a bidder, and request more info.

huh, weird. Still, very cool to see though.
